Christian: I’m an assistant golf pro so I’m really healthy and fit and I’m wondering if I really need insurance. I mean, why should I keep putting money towards it right now, even if I can afford it?

BCBSAL: Starting in 2014, if you don’t have insurance you will have to pay a fine. For an individual, that penalty would start at $95.00 per person annually or one percent of a person’s household income, whichever is greater. The penalty will rise to the greater of $695 a year or 2.5 percent of your annual income by 2016.
